Ten Arrested After Brutal Canterbury Teen Assault
Police have charged ten suspects following a violent attack on a teenage boy in Canterbury city centre.
Serious Assault in Canterbury
Officers rushed to Rose Lane on the evening of Thursday, 6 June 2019, after reports that a teenage boy had been viciously assaulted. The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Charges Filed Against Ten Suspects
On Tuesday 3 December 2019, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges of grievous bodily harm with intent and violent disorder against ten individuals, including:
- George Potter, 18, of Eaton Place, Margate
- A 17-year-old boy from Canterbury
Additional Charges
George Potter faces further charges for shop theft, including stealing a screwdriver and a Stanley knife, as well as possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The 17-year-old suspect is also charged with theft of a screwdriver and Stanley knife from a shop, plus possession of cannabis.
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate continues to investigate the incident.
