Drug Dealer Caught Sleeping on the Job with 48 Wraps of Class A Stash
Andrea Brown, 41, was found fast asleep on a sofa when Kent Police burst into a property on Surrey Road, Margate, at 6am on 15 July 2020. Officers from the County Line and Gang Team swooped as part of a major drug supply probe in the town.
Class A Drugs Found Under Pillow in Shocking Discovery
Underneath the pillow Brown was lying on, police discovered 48 wraps of class A drugs including crack cocaine and heroin. They also seized her mobile phone, later identified as being used by a known drug line operating in Margate.
Brown’s purse was taken too, containing £170 in cash believed to be criminal property.
Five Years and Seven Months Behind Bars for Margate Drug Dealer
Hailing from Nightingale Place in Greater London, Brown pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, plus possession of criminal property.
She was slammed with a hefty jail term of five years and seven months at Canterbury Crown Court on 5 March 2021.
Detective Vows to Crack Down on County Drug Supply
“The misuse of drugs wrecks lives and fuels all kinds of crime,” said Detective Constable Jake Griffiths.
“Criminals like Brown head outside London to places like Kent to find new customers. We have zero tolerance. We’ll keep working with neighbouring forces to hunt down offenders and deliver justice.”
