Tragic Quarry Fall Claims Life of Popular Teen Myron Davies

Myron Davies, a well-loved 14-year-old, died after a fall near Limekiln Road in Abersychan on July 6. The cheerful schoolboy was described by family and friends as “happy” and “popular.”

Heartbroken Family Plead for Answers

Myron’s mother, Sarah Davies, expressed her devastation: “As his family, we are all completely heartbroken. His friends are devastated too. We’re struggling to get through each day since this tragic news.”

She added, “What happened that day is a mystery. If anyone has information, please come forward. I need to know what happened to my son as a mother.”

Sarah also thanked the community for their support during this dark time.

Incident Under Police Investigation

  • Police were called to Limekiln Road at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, July 6, after reports of a boy and girl falling at a quarry.
  • Myron was pronounced dead at the scene by Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics.
  • A 14-year-old girl from Blaenavon suffered critical injuries and remains in hospital in Cardiff.
  • Gwent Police continue to investigate the incident.

Remembering Myron: A Young Life Taken Too Soon

Myron was a student at Abersychan School, known for his friendly nature and bright smile. Teachers and classmates loved him.

He enjoyed cycling around the community and was passionate about online gaming with family and friends on Xbox and PlayStation.

Officials have urged friends and locals not to gather at the quarry to pay respects, to keep the area safe and allow the investigation to continue.
