Just before 11pm on Friday 24 September, Stewart Macgregor, 53, was seriously injured after falling off his e-scooter at the Broadwater Crescent and Woodland Way junction. Stewart Macgregor Tragically Loses Battle

Despite medical efforts, Stewart died in hospital two days later. His devastated wife, Nicky, paid an emotional tribute:

“I, our children and I are totally devastated that Stewart is no longer with us. He was a loving husband, son, brother, dad, uncle and friend. Our lives will never be the same without him. He was such a caring, loving person.”

“He had only popped out to see if the petrol garage had fuel. I didn’t think something like this would ever happen.”

Wife Urges Scooter Riders to Wear Helmets

Nicky urged others to take e-scooter safety seriously:

“Please, if you own one, wear a helmet. Stew used to wear his helmet, but on this night he went out without one. I hope no other family has to suffer what we are going through.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Sergeant Sam Cordingley from the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said:

“Our thoughts are with Stewart’s family at this difficult time. Please respect their privacy.

“We continue to investigate and urge anyone who saw the collision or the moments before it to come forward. If you have dashcam footage from the area, please check it and get in touch.”

Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the collision.
