Throat-Slitting Robber Jailed for Nearly Four Years in Tunbridge Wells
A terrifying mugging in broad daylight has landed Harry Dial behind bars for almost four years. The 21-year-old, with no fixed address, threatened to slit a man’s throat during a robbery attempt at a cash machine on Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells.
Knife-Wielding Thief Demands Cash at ATM
On the morning of 18 January 2019, at around 7am, Dial followed his victim to a cash machine. He pressed a sharp blade against the man’s throat, demanding money. The chilling attack only ended when a brave passer-by intervened, forcing Dial to flee – empty handed.
Criminal Spree Continues Across Town
- Just over an hour later, Dial threatened shop staff in Silverdale Road, intimidating them before stealing a bottle of wine.
- He then entered a store in Liptraps Lane. Although he left without taking anything, staff spotted him carrying a knife.
Quick Arrest and Justice Served
Police caught up with Dial shortly after, finding him at a nearby property and seizing the knife. He was charged with multiple offences and remanded in custody.
