Burglars Nabbed After Copper Piping Theft in Canterbury

Three men have been charged after a daring burglary at an industrial park in Canterbury where thousands of pounds worth of damage was reported.

Police Helicopter and Dog Play Key Role

Kent Police rushed to the scene on Island Road, Hersden, around 10pm on Saturday, 5 February 2022, following reports of a break-in. Using a police helicopter and their trusty Police Dog Yoofoo, officers searched nearby marshland and caught the suspects red-handed. A bag of stolen copper piping was seized during the operation.

Three Men Remanded in Custody

Costel Coscodaru, 25, Marih Gigel Ilihca, 39, and Mihai Florin, 18—all with no fixed address—have been charged with burglary. The trio appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 February, and were remanded in custody ahead of their next hearing on 7 March 2022.
