Kent Police smash massive cannabis farm
Kent Police stormed a commercial unit in Ramsgate on the morning of Wednesday 1 May 2024. Officers seized a staggering around 1,700 cannabis plants along with all the growing kit. Three suspects were arrested at the scene.
Power cut fears spark safety call-out
UK Power Networks rushed in to make the site safe after concerns that the building’s electricity had been illegally tampered with. The high-risk setup raised alarms about the potential dangers involved in the operation.
Suspects charged and remanded
Following investigations by East Kent CID, Tom Doku, 48, Arvaniti Ilirjan, 43, and Ervin Zenelaj, 33 – all with no fixed address – were charged with producing cannabis cultivation and dishonestly abstracting electricity. They appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 2 May and were remanded in custody to face Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 3 June.
