Three Men Jailed for Raping 16-Year-Old Girl After Brutal Kidnap
Three men have been locked up for a total of 45 years after raping a 16-year-old schoolgirl they held against her will. Roberto French, 22, Abdisalam Mohamad, 21, and Hilal Mohamed, 22, were found guilty at Wood Green Crown Court on 6 February.
Brutal Attack with Machete and Kidnap
The court heard the chilling details: the teenager had travelled from Bristol to London on 13 August 2016 when French threatened her with a machete, robbing her in front of the others. Then, he confined her in a residential block in Enfield, where all three forced her to perform oral sex.
Sentences Handed Down
- Roberto French received 17 years for rape, 5 years for robbery, and 10 years for false imprisonment – all running concurrently.
- Abdisalam Mohamad and Hilal Mohamed were each jailed for 14 years.
French tried to stop the victim from fleeing but was arrested two days later. Mohamad and Mohamed were also arrested months later and stood trial.
Victim’s Courage Praised
His Honour Judge Perrins said the victim “deserves significant credit for persevering with this case as the years went by… She has shown real inner strength and resolve.”
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Carter added: “These sentences reflect the severity of the offences. The victim and her family have shown tremendous strength and I thank them for their courage. Thanks also to the dedicated officers who brought these dangerous offenders to justice.”
