Three Charged After Chaotic Unlicensed Brixton Rave
Three people have been hit with charges following a wild unlicensed music party in Brixton on Wednesday, 24 June.
Violent Disorder and Assault Charges Laid
- Donte Knight, 20, from Charles Barry Close, SW4, and a 16-year-old Brixton youth face violent disorder charges. Both are set to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 29 June.
- Natasha Agyekum, 24, of Peckford Place, SW9, was charged with assaulting an emergency services worker. She will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 20 August.
Police Clash With Party Crowd
Officers rushed to Overton Road, Lambeth after reports of a large, unlicensed street rave.
Despite police urging the crowd to disperse, the group ignored orders and hostility erupted. A Dispersal Zone was enforced under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 to quell the chaos.
Injuries and Arrests Mount
- 27 officers injured; none seriously, though two needed hospital treatment.
- Several police vehicles sustained damage.
- Five more men were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder; two remain in custody. Three others — aged 18, 22, and 28 — were released on bail pending further inquiries.
