Top Gear Not Axed Despite Freddie Flintoff Crash Drama!
Forget the rumours, Top Gear is not cancelled! The BBC has slammed recent reports claiming the beloved motoring show is dead in the water after Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff’s nasty crash during filming last year.
Crash Sparks Filming Freeze
The drama unfolded back in December at the infamous Dunsfold Aerodrome test track, where Freddie suffered a serious smash-up. Production on series 34 was paused while the BBC launched an internal probe. In March, the broadcaster confirmed filming wouldn’t resume until the investigation wrapped.
Freddie’s Family Reveal The True Impact
Flintoff’s son, Corey, called the crash “pretty nasty,” stressing how lucky his dad was to survive. The 45-year-old former England cricket star has been out of the public eye until recently. He was spotted for the first time since the accident, showing off visible facial injuries.
“They’ll share the good times with you, the successes. But as I found over the past few months, they’ll be there in the hardest times of your life – they will stand next to you,” Freddie said in a heartfelt video while awarding England cap to young spin bowler Tom Hartley.
Top Gear’s Future Still Revving Up
Despite all the setbacks, insiders say Top Gear is still very much alive. The BBC is quietly working out when and how filming can restart. For now, fans will have to wait to see their favourite show back on the road, but it’s certainly not the end of the line for Top Gear.
