Three Teens Charged Over O2 Arena Stabbing
Three teenagers have been charged following a stabbing at Greenwich’s O2 Arena that left a boy injured inside Cineworld.
Boy Stabbed at Cineworld, Condition Stable
On February 22, just after 2.45pm, police and London Ambulance crews rushed to the scene after reports of a stabbing at the popular cinema.
A teenage boy was found stabbed inside Cineworld. Paramedics treated him before rushing him to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.
Two 17-Year-Olds and One 16-Year-Old Face Charges
The following day, February 23, police charged two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old with grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession of a bladed weapon.
The trio appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on February 24 and are set to return on March 10.
O2 Cinema Temporarily Shut, Now Reopened
The stabbing forced the Cineworld at the O2 to close temporarily, but it has since reopened to the public.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating a stabbing in Greenwich have charged three males. On Thursday, February 23, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old were charged with GBH and possession of a bladed article. They appeared in custody at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on 24 February and will next appear at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on 10 March.”
Police were called at 2.46pm on February 22 by London Ambulance Service following reports of the stabbing inside the O2, SE10. Officers responded quickly and discovered the injured adolescent male, who was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
