Triple killer Kyle Clifford found guilty of raping and murdering ex, her sister, and mother
Chilling Crossbow Rampage in Hertfordshire
Kyle Clifford, 26, has been convicted of raping his ex-partner Louise Hunt before brutally murdering her, her sister Hannah, and their mother Carol in a cold-blooded, premeditated attack at their Ashlyn Close home in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
The Cambridge Crown Court jury took just 45 minutes to convict Clifford of rape, dismissing any doubt as they branded it a “violent, sexual act of spite.” He had already pleaded guilty to three counts of murder, false imprisonment, and possession of offensive weapons.
During the trial, Clifford refused to leave his cell in HMP Belmarsh and was found guilty in his absence.
Savage Scene Inside Family Home
The horror unfolded on 9 July 2024, after Louise ended her 18-month relationship with Clifford. Angered, he tricked 61-year-old Carol Hunt, wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt, to let him inside before stabbing her to death.
Clifford then ambushed Louise, restraining and raping her before shooting her with a crossbow. When 28-year-old Hannah returned from work, she frantically texted her partner Alex Klein:
“Call police… immediately. To mine. Now. Kyle here. Police now. He’s tying us up.”
Minutes later, Clifford killed Hannah with the same crossbow.
Dark Influence Behind Horrific Crime
Prosecutors revealed Clifford was radicalised by “violent misogyny” promoted by notorious social media figure Andrew Tate. The court heard Clifford had searched Tate’s podcasts just a day before the murders.
Further evidence exposed Clifford’s duplicitous lifestyle—secretly juggling affairs, using dating apps like Hinge and Bumble, and displaying a long history of controlling and aggressive behaviour towards Louise.
Manhunt Ends with Suicide Attempt
Clifford fled after the attacks, triggering a massive manhunt. Police found him severely injured in Lavender Hill Cemetery, Enfield, after he tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the chest with the same crossbow.
The injury left Clifford paralysed from the chest down.
Courtroom Erupts as Guilty Verdict Announced
Cheers and applause broke out in the public gallery as the guilty verdict was read, with relatives weeping openly in relief.
