Two arrested in Wiltshire drug bust after police spot suspicious car on Friday night

Tip-Off Sparks Swift Police Action

Wiltshire Police swooped on a black Ford Fiesta in Chippenham after a vigilant local reported suspected drug dealing. The Local Policing Tasking Team (LPTT) acted fast, pulling the car over on London Road on the evening of 14 February.

Class A Drugs and Cash Found During Stop

The driver, an 18-year-old man, and his 20-year-old female passenger were searched. Police uncovered:

  • A large stash of white powder, believed to be class A drugs
  • Significant amounts of cash
  • Weighing scales
  • Several mobile phones

A roadside drug wipe test confirmed the driver had traces of cannabis and cocaine in his system.

Further house searches turned up even more drugs and paraphernalia. Both suspects were arrested, taken into custody, and later bailed pending ongoing investigations.

Police Urge Public To Keep Reporting Drug Crime

“Reports and intelligence submissions from the public are crucial. We encourage everyone to report suspicious activity of any scale so we can continue to provide an effective response,” said PC Hughes of the Wiltshire LPTT.

Wiltshire Police appeal to locals with information on drug offences to call 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Investigation Ongoing, More Arrests Possible

The inquiry is far from over. Police say more arrests could be on the horizon as they crack down on drug crime in the region.
