Two More Charged in Shocking White Hart Lane Police Attack
Police have charged two more suspects over the horrific incident where an officer was driven at during a vehicle stop in White Hart Lane, N17, on Tuesday, 29 October 2019.
Father and Daughter Face Justice for Perverting Course of Justice
- Sultan Altun, 53, of Suffolk Road, N15, was charged on 22 April with perverting the course of justice.
- Hanim Altun, 24, also from Suffolk Road, faces the same charge.
Both are set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 20 May.
Man Charged with Attempted Murder and Firearm Offences
Aydin Altun, 26, from Suffolk Road, Tottenham, was arrested on 30 October on suspicion of attempted murder and firearm possession. The very next day, he was officially charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Aydin remains in custody and is due to appear at the Central Criminal Court on a yet-to-be-confirmed date.
Other Suspects Released, Injured Officer Recovering
- Four males aged between 17 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but released without further action.
- The injured officer was rushed to a north London hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening, and he has now been discharged.
The investigation continues as police crack down on those involved in this violent attack on law enforcement.
