Miracle Escape as Car Crashes Into Tree in Calbourne
Two lucky motorists escaped serious injury after their car smashed into a tree on Lynch Lane, Calbourne, late Sunday night.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
The crash happened just after 9.45pm between Calbourne and Brighstone. Fire crews from Newport and Freshwater, alongside police and the Isle of Wight 1 Service, quickly responded.
Injured Drivers Treated and Taken to Hospital
Medics treated two people at the scene before transferring them to St Mary’s Hospital for checks. Thankfully, their injuries are not serious.
Firefighters Secure the Area
A spokeswoman for 1 Fire and Rescue confirmed:
“Crews attended and made the vehicle safe. No one was trapped in the vehicle and crews have since returned.”
The road remains closed as recovery teams clear the wreckage and carry out accident investigations.
