Man Hospitalised After Serious Attack in Folkestone

Kent Police rushed to New Street at 1.15pm on Thursday, 6 October 2022, following reports of a brutal assault on a man outside a home.

Air Ambulance Flies Victim to London Hospital

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, arrived at the scene. The victim, a man in his 40s, was flown to a London hospital with a severe head injury. He remains in critical condition.

Two Arrested and Charged with GBH

Later that day, police arrested two men. Mark Green, 41, from East Cliff, Folkestone, and 18-year-old Ruben Smith, from Foord Road South, Folkestone, have both been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both suspects are now remanded in custody and will appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 8 October.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are appealing for anyone who saw the attack or has dashcam footage from New Street to come forward. Contact them on 01843 222273, quoting reference 46/193708/22.
