Drug Dealers Behind Bars After Norfolk Sting
Charlton Glover, 26, from Cobholm, and Tobias Coker, 23, of Rollesby, were slammed with prison sentences yesterday at Norwich Crown Court. Both men pleaded guilty to drug supply charges after a lengthy police probe.
High-Speed Chase and River Dump
The drama kicked off on August 1, 2019, when officers from Operation Moonshot East tried to stop a Mercedes A-Class on North Quay, Great Yarmouth. Tobias Coker, the driver, fled the scene, throwing evidence into the River Bure. He was caught and arrested on suspicion of drug supply but initially released under investigation.
Cash Crackdown and BMW Stop
Weeks later, on January 15, 2020, cops pulled over a white BMW 1 Series near Haven Bridge. Behind the wheel was Charlton Glover, who was immediately arrested on suspicion of drug dealing. A search at his home uncovered a stash of more than £10,000 hidden in his bedroom.
Linked and Locked Up
Initially investigated separately, police linked the pair to a prolonged cocaine supply operation. Both were re-arrested and charged with supplying cocaine and cannabis. Glover faced extra charges for possession of criminal property.
At court, Glover was handed 4 years and six months. Coker got 3 years and 6 months. Both must also pay victim surcharges.
Acting Sergeant Steve Lee blasted, “We are really pleased with this result, as it sends out a strong message that we will not tolerate drug dealing, and will target those who supply drugs on the streets of Norfolk. This was a thorough investigation by the Moonshot East team.”
