East London Snooker Club Murder: Two Men Convicted

Two men have been found guilty over the shocking 2019 fatal shooting inside an east London snooker club. Jeton Krasniqi, 27, from Barking and Dagenham, was convicted at the Old Bailey on 25 May for the murder of 27-year-old Grineo Daka.

Krasniqi was also found guilty of possession of a firearm and wounding another man with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. His accomplice, Edison Brahimi, 30, of Islington, was convicted of perverting the course of justice. Both will be sentenced on 25 June.

Revenge Shooting at Busy Snooker Club

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley revealed the chilling details: “Grineo Daka was lured to the snooker club before his life was taken in an act of reckless violence.”

Krasniqi attacked just 24 hours after an argument, bringing a friend armed with a gun. The club was packed with about 50 people on that summer night. “Only pure luck prevented more injuries or deaths,” said DCI Wrigley. Forensics recovered two extra discharged bullets inside the club – they could have easily hit other patrons.

The killer wore gloves, trying to dodge leaving fingerprints. But CCTV caught his movements after the murder, sealing his fate.

Deadly Night Unfolded

  • On 6 July 2019, a dispute broke out at the Phoenix Snooker Club on Lea Bridge Road, E10.
  • Grineo was involved in a fight, including a bottle getting smashed.
  • Early on 7 July, Grineo returned to the club after a call and headed upstairs to the bar.
  • Krasniqi, Brahimi, and others were already there.
  • A brawl erupted around 3am, with pool balls flying and four shots fired from a smuggled gun.
  • Grineo was shot in the back and died within 30 minutes.
  • A friend was also hit in the foot; two stray bullets were found inside the club.
  • CCTV showed Krasniqi, gloves still on, discarding a firearm over a balcony.
  • Police recovered the modified gun nearby, loaded with a bullet still jammed inside the chamber.
  • The four men fled the scene after stepping over the dying Grineo.

Manhunt and Trial

Police tracked and analysed CCTV and mobile data to identify the suspects. After months on the run, Brahimi was arrested in Westminster in December 2019, initially charged with murder but later with perverting justice.

Krasniqi was caught in Dagenham in May 2020 and charged with murder, firearm possession, and wounding with intent. A third man involved died awaiting trial, and a fourth remains at large.

DCI Wrigley urged the public: “If you have any information about firearm possession, contact police or give details anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
