Weston-Super-Mare Men Jail for Fatal Wiveliscombe Beating

Daniel Bond, 34, and Lee Conlon, 37, both from Claremont Crescent, Weston-super-Mare, have been handed prison sentences after admitting manslaughter. Bond was sentenced to seven years and eight months, while Conlon received six years and four months.

Jason Lock Dies After Brutal Attack

Jason Lock, 55, died in hospital following a vicious assault at his home in Stockers Close, Wiveliscombe on May 17. The attack took place in front of his partner Mandy. Both Bond and Conlon punched Jason, with Bond landing a fatal blow that knocked him unconscious. Jason later died from severe head injuries.

Judge Hart condemned the attack as a “sustained” and “tragic” assault that “should never have happened.”

Heartfelt Tribute From Jason’s Partner

Mandy Lock described Jason as her “best friend and lover,” praising him as “kind, hardworking and willing to help anyone.” She said she is “heartbroken and lost without him.”

“Jason was not fighting back, Jason was a peacemaker not a fighter. I cannot explain how it feels to have the person you love ripped away… in front of your eyes. Just trying to function every day feels completely unnatural. Every time I step outside my house I am reminded of what happened as it happened right on my doorstep. It’s just so painful,” she told the court.

Woman Denies Charges Over Same Incident

Laura Lockyer, 32, of Wiveliscombe, appeared at Taunton Deane Magistrates’ Court on November 3. She denied assault and public order offences linked to the same attack. Lockyer was released on unconditional bail ahead of a court date set for January 27, 2023.
