Two Charged Over Serious High Street Assault in Canterbury

Man in 60s Suffers Serious Head Injuries

Kent Police rushed to Canterbury’s High Street at 1am on Tuesday, 1 September 2020, after reports of a brutal assault near Guildhall Street.

The victim, a man in his 60s, suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains under treatment.

Two Men Named and Charged

Serhat Yalcin, 25, from Ramsgate, and Agid Yalcin, 20, from Ashford, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following the attack.

Suspects Due in Court

Both men are set to appear via videolink at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 2 September.
