Two Charged Over Fatal 2019 Stoke Newington Stabbing

Two men have been charged with the murder of 47-year-old Steven Brown, who was found fatally stabbed in Stoke Newington back in April 2019.

Suspects Named and Charged

Alican Cetinkaya, 24, from Tottenham, and Reece Lucey, 23, from Islington, were both charged with murder on 14 September.

Cetinkaya faces an additional charge of possession of an offensive weapon. Lucey is also charged with throwing a corrosive fluid with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Court Appearances and Investigation Details

Both appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 15 September and have been remanded in custody. Their next hearing is scheduled for 17 September at the Central Criminal Court.

The murder probe began after Steven Brown was found suffering from stab wounds in Mathias Road, N16, on 17 April 2019.

Despite police administering CPR and paramedics attending the scene, Steven was pronounced dead at 6:10pm.

A post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart and haemorrhage.
