Cooper Brothers Caught: Bransgore Crime Spree Ends in Court
Two 21-year-old men from Burnt House Lane, Bransgore, Dillon Alan Cooper and Thomas Edward Cooper, have been handed community sentences for a string of crimes earlier this year.
Community Orders and Heavy Unpaid Work
At Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 10 September, both brothers received 18-month community orders. Thomas Cooper faces 15 rehabilitation activity days plus 150 hours of unpaid work, after pleading guilty to two assaults on police officers during a row on Burnt House Lane in January.
Dillon Cooper was ordered to complete up to 20 rehabilitation days and 270 hours of unpaid work. His charges include damaging a taxi by shooting ball bearings at it on Burley Road in February, scaring the driver, and stealing camping gear worth £3,500 from a vehicle in Emery Down in June.
Victims to Receive Compensation
- Both brothers must pay £650 each to the taxi driver victim, totalling £1,300
- Dillon also ordered to pay £2,746.62 in compensation for the stolen camping equipment
Police Proud as Justice Served
“I am pleased for the victims in these cases with the positive outcome at court,” said PC Katherine Gillingham. “The Cooper brothers will now face the consequences of their actions and will have to compensate those they have wronged. Behaviour and criminality such as theirs will never be tolerated. We will always work tirelessly to ensure offenders are held to account.”
“This should serve as a reminder to other offenders out there that we will always seek to bring you to justice. You will not be allowed to simply get away with stealing, causing damage, putting innocent members of the public in fear of their safety, and assaulting police officers in the execution of their duties.”
