Two Robberies in Gillingham Spark Police Action

Two men struck fear into local walkers in Gillingham last week, snatching valuables in quick succession. The first incident happened at 9:20pm on Wednesday 16 February, when a man was walking along Franklin Road and was approached by two suspects. They threatened him before making off with his mobile phone.

Second Victim Robbed on Canterbury Street

Less than 40 minutes later, around 10pm, another man was targeted on nearby Canterbury Street. Two men threatened him, rifled through his pockets, and stole a sum of cash before vanishing.

Quick Arrest in Robbery Case

Police responded swiftly. Within 20 minutes of the second robbery, officers arrested a suspect in the area. The second assailant remains at large.

Accused Charged and Court Date Set

Kaizra Campbell, 19, of Autumn Way, West Drayton, Greater London, has been charged with two counts of robbery and possession of cannabis. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 18 February and was granted bail. Campbell is due to face Maidstone Crown Court on 17 March.
