Teen Knifemen Jailed for Tragic Stabbing of Francois Kablan
Two teenagers have been locked up for the manslaughter of 16-year-old Francois Kablan, stabbed to death in broad daylight on a London street.
Deadly Fight in SE1 Ends in Tragedy
On Wednesday 31 March, Mohamed Kalokoh, 18, from Elephant and Castle, was sentenced to 13 years for the killing, with eight years behind bars and five on licence. A second teen, aged 16 from Lambeth and unnamed for legal reasons, received the same sentence.
The pair were convicted at Isleworth Crown Court on 3 February for the fatal stabbing of Francois Kablan, who lived in SE16. The deadly attack happened on 13 May 2020 on Dover Street, SE1.
Knife Crime Nightmare Shakes Community
Police were called around 5.30pm after reports of a fight involving several males near the scene. Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the location, but Francois was pronounced dead at the scene from a stab wound to the chest.
Detectives from the Homicide and Specialist Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran, launched a thorough investigation. The two defendants were arrested nearby.
“My thoughts go out today to the family and friends of Francois, whose life was needlessly lost, far too soon,” said DCI Kate Kieran.
“The two defendants, both armed with knives, refused to back down, leading to this tragic outcome. Their intent was to cause serious harm. They are dangerous offenders who have no place on our streets.”
“This verdict reflects the serious impact of knife crime on victims and communities. I hope it brings some closure while removing two dangerous criminals from London’s streets.
Tackling violent crime remains the Met’s top priority. We’re working hard to remove weapons and keep communities safe.”
