Teen Biker Arrested After Crash Injures Women and Children

A 17-year-old boy was arrested following a serious motorcycle crash involving women and children in Barcombe last night.

Bonfire Night Turns Tragic on High Street

The collision happened shortly after a bonfire and fireworks display on High Street, Barcombe. Two women— a 67-year-old from Ditchling and a 30-year-old from East Grinstead—suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.

Children and Others Hurt but Not Hospitalised

Three others, including two children, were treated at the scene for minor injuries and did not need hospital care.

Police Investigation Underway, Road Reopened

Sussex Police arrested the teen on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was later released on bail.

The road was closed temporarily but has since reopened. Police apologised for the disruption and urged anyone with information or footage to contact them, quoting Operation Meadow.
