Brutal Night Out: Two Women Knocked Out in Shocking Attack
Young Women Assaulted After Night Out
Two women in their early 20s were viciously attacked while out socialising on 9 July 2021. The violence erupted at the College Arms, where one of the women got into a heated argument with 27-year-old Elliot Hadman. Hadman snapped, telling her, “I don’t like you or your family,” before ordering her to “go away.” She backed off, but the ordeal wasn’t over.
Violent Assault on Broadway Captured on CCTV
Just after midnight, the two friends crossed paths with Hadman again on Broadway. Without warning, he assaulted them both, knocking them unconscious. CCTV footage caught the shocking attack in full.
Witnesses gave chase while others called an ambulance. One woman suffered cuts, bruising, and swelling to her face and head. The other was left with a fractured skull, perforated eardrum, and severe bruising.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest
Minutes after the attack, police received a 999 call from a man being chased nearby. The call was traced back to Hadman’s phone, placing him close to the scene. He was arrested on 14 August at his home in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Hadman admitted to assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and actual bodily harm (ABH) at Peterborough Crown Court. Today (Monday 28 March), he was sentenced to two years in prison.
Detective Thanks Good Samaritans
“This was a shocking incident where two young women were assaulted on a night out. I’m grateful to those who helped the victims and called for an ambulance,” said Detective Constable Igor Simonov. “Alcohol-fuelled anger can cause lifelong damage with just one punch. Thankfully, the women’s injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening. Still, they’ve been deeply shaken by this attack.”
