Two Years After Fatal Sheffield Shooting, Police Plead for Witnesses
It’s been two years since 21-year-old Lamar Leroy Griffiths was shot dead outside a Sheffield car wash. The tragic attack happened on 29 March 2022 at Diamond Hand Car Wash in Burngreave, when multiple gunshots were fired at the BMW Lamar was sitting in.
Murder Investigation Continues
Police launched a murder probe straight away. So far, Abdul Hakim and Nasser Nashir have pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and are awaiting sentencing. But those who pulled the trigger have yet to face justice.
Detective Urges Public to Come Forward
“Lamar suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, with the shooting happening at around 6.45pm,” said Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Bowell, senior investigating officer on the case. “I want to implore anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch so we can secure justice for Lamar’s loved ones.”
“I cannot imagine the pain they must have endured and must still be going through after losing Lamar at such a young age.”
