Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed Flushing Cocaine Down Toilet
Paul Adams was arrested in Gillingham in October 2020 after a dramatic police raid. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate swooped on his home in Holly Close, catching him flushing bags of white powder — later confirmed as cocaine — down the toilet.
Cash Stashed in Nappies and Cereal Boxes
During the raid, officers uncovered large sums of cash hidden in the most bizarre spots: nappies and a cereal box. But that was just the start.
Further searches of Adams’ two business sites on Maritime Way and Gads Hill revealed 4kg of class A and B drugs, more cash, mobile phones, and drug-dealing paraphernalia.
Seven-Year Jail Term and £58k Asset Forfeiture
Adams, 34, was charged with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of class B drugs, drug supply involvement, and possession of criminal property. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years behind bars in May 2021.
In a confiscation hearing at Maidstone Crown Court in June 2022, Adams was ordered to forfeit £58,166 — every penny of his current assets.
Police Vow to Crack Down on Crime Profits
No one should be allowed to benefit financially from committing crime,” said Detective Inspector Dave Godfrey of Kent Police’s Economic Crime Unit. “We will work tirelessly to recover any ill-gotten gains. This case is a clear warning to anyone looking to profit from criminal activity.”
Under the Asset Recovery Incentivisation Scheme (ARIS), recovered assets fund policing efforts, split between Kent Police and the Home Office, helping fight crime on all fronts.
