Monster Caught: Man Jailed for Attempted Rape at King’s Cross

Amer Mohamed, 31, has been found guilty of attempted rape at Inner London Crown Court following a British Transport Police (BTP) probe. The vile predator now faces a prison sentence for his sickening attack.

Horrific Assault at 5am

In the early hours of 23 July 2022, Mohamed targeted a woman asleep at King’s Cross station. The victim was startled awake to find Mohamed exposing himself and trying to rape her against her will. Despite her desperate fight, Mohamed overpowered her and continued assaulting her for a harrowing 30 minutes — until her friend woke and stopped the attack.

Shocking Defence & Police Response

The victim immediately reported the crime to BTP officers and bravely identified Mohamed, who was arrested on the spot. During police questioning, Mohamed had the audacity to claim sex with someone asleep is “acceptable” because “they aren’t dead.” Shown CCTV footage of the attack, he bizarrely insisted he was just trying to “help the victim sleep better.”

“Amer Mohamed is a vile predator who deliberately targeted an unconscious woman and subjected her to a truly abhorrent attack in the belief she would be powerless to stop him,” said Detective Constable Rachel Parfitt.

“It is beyond contemptible that he has not only shown no remorse but tried to defend himself by claiming it’s fine to have sex with someone if they are asleep.”

Justice Served

DC Parfitt praised the victim’s bravery for standing strong throughout the court process, helping secure justice. Mohamed was found guilty and sentenced to jail at Inner London Crown Court.

“We will work relentlessly to bring sexual offenders to justice and support victims every step of the way,” DC Parfitt vowed.
