Carl Thompson, 22, from Glimmer Way, Wainscott, was nailed by the cops for driving dangerously under the influence. On 14 September 2021 in Halling, he blew well over the legal drug limit behind the wheel.

Staggering Drug Levels Detected

At Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 14 February 2022, Thompson admitted to driving with more than 800 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood. The legal limit is just 50 microgrammes. He also had 32 microgrammes of another drug in his system, where only 10 microgrammes are allowed.

Hefty Penalty for Risky Behaviour

  • 18-month driving ban
  • £460 fine
  • £76 surcharge plus £160 court costs

Thompson also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and operating a vehicle in a dangerous condition.

This sentencing sends a clear warning: drug-driving won’t be tolerated on UK roads.
