Businessman Jailed for Sick Job Scam Sexual Assaults
A 67-year-old businessman has been locked up for six and a half years after using a twisted fake job ad to sexually assault four women.
Twisted Job Ad Lured Victims
Kevin McCarthy, from Northwood, Middlesex, tricked women with an offer of £75 an hour to act as “bodies” for a charity’s first aid training course. The role involved “intimate” sessions supposedly to prepare staff heading to war zones.
He hired a room in a health clinic and created a convincing setup, complete with medical gear, to lure and fool his victims.
Victims Forced Into Grotesque ‘Assessments’
Before starting, women had to attend a one-on-one 30-minute assessment with McCarthy. During these sessions, he subjected them to serious sexual assaults disguised as “examinations.”
One woman grew suspicious after being asked to undress and seeing gynaecological tools. When she demanded ID and certification, McCarthy panicked and fled through a window after she threatened to call police.
Police Crack the Case Thanks to Brave Victims
Police tracked a Land Rover linked to McCarthy and identified four victims who confirmed the assaults all happened on 23 May 2019.
McCarthy was arrested in November 2019 and later admitted nine counts of assault by penetration.
“McCarthy targeted young, vulnerable women and took advantage of their trust and need for employment to carry out his awful crimes,” said Detective Sergeant Joel Gregory. “He’s a thoroughly manipulative individual. I urge any further victims to come forward.”
Each victim will receive £10,000 in compensation. McCarthy’s sick scheme is finally put to justice, but police warn there may be more victims out there.
