Gunshots Fired in Wolverhampton Street: Two Children Shot
West Midlands Police are probing a shocking shooting incident in Bushbury, Wolverhampton, where two children were hit by gunfire in broad daylight.
15-Year-Old Boy and 11-Year-Old Girl Both Injured
The drama unfolded just after 3pm on Monday in Shelley Road. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of shots being fired. A 15-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, while an 11-year-old girl got caught in parkland off Shelley Road and was also shot in the leg.
Both youngsters were swiftly taken to hospital and remain in stable condition as of Tuesday.
Police Chase Leads to Abandoned Stolen Car
Shortly after the gunfire, officers were alerted to a high-speed chase involving two vehicles — a suspected stolen black Mini and a grey Ford Focus — speeding through Bushbury.
The black Mini was later found abandoned on Third Avenue and has been seized for forensic examination.
Police Urge Locals: Check Your Dashcams and Doorbell Cams
“We understand how upsetting an incident like this is, especially in a residential area,” said a West Midlands Police spokesperson. “We are working closely with local schools and are making it a priority to find out what happened and who is responsible.”
