Tragedy in Northallerton: Teen Girl Dies After Collapsing in Car Park

Police have launched a full investigation after a 15-year-old girl died following a collapse in Northallerton. Emergency services were called to Applegarth Car Park at 9.30pm on Saturday, 11 May 2019, after a member of the public spotted the girl in distress.

MDMA Suspected in Teen’s Sudden Death

The girl was rushed to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough but sadly passed away. Police believe she had taken MDMA, and they are probing whether the drug caused her death. Officers are warning anyone who recently bought MDMA to be extremely cautious about using it.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

“This is an incredibly sad and tragic event,” said Detective Inspector Jon Sygrove. “Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

If you have taken the drug recently, please be careful. Should you feel unwell, seek medical help immediately.

We’re appealing to anyone who was near Applegarth Car Park that evening to get in touch with us. Your information could be vital.”

A police cordon remains in place to allow a thorough search of the scene. Witnesses can contact the Force Control Room on 101, quoting reference 12190085105.
