Police clampdown on Castleridge Lake chaos – 48-hour ban kicks in Saturday!

Nuisance behaviour sparks tough police action

From 11am on Saturday 17 July, Kent Police will enforce a strict 48-hour order around Castleridge Lake, covering the area near Castleridge Drive and Havelock Drive. The move comes after a flood of complaints about loud noise and criminal damage in the area.

Officers granted new powers to tackle troublemakers

The order gives police extra clout to disperse any individuals or groups suspected of antisocial behaviour. Refusal to leave could lead to immediate arrest, sending a clear warning to anyone thinking of causing a stir.

Community safety takes centre stage

Inspector Sarah Rivett, Dartford Community Safety Unit, said: “We understand people want to enjoy the warm weather, but not at the cost of the wider community.”

“We’ve had reports of young groups acting rudely and discourteously, plus dangerous swimming in the lake putting themselves at risk.”

She added: “Our officers will patrol regularly and won’t hesitate to take the toughest, proportionate action against those causing trouble.”
