Man Arrested After Shocking Attempted Murder Car Incident in Romford
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a dramatic car incident in Romford that unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, 19 August.
Footage Sparks Police Action
Police were tipped off after a video of the incident circulated on social media. The shocking footage showed events believed to have taken place on Chandlers Way around 3.30am. Although no immediate allegations were made, the investigation soon gained pace.
Damaged Car Found – Arrest Made
On Tuesday, 21 August, officers discovered a damaged grey Ford Focus on Durham Avenue, linked to the incident. Shortly after, a man was arrested and taken to an East London station for questioning.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Dean Grafton said: “Although we have made progress with our enquiries, we are keen to speak to anyone with information or any victims affected by this ordeal.”
He added, “This is believed to be an isolated incident. We’re working hard to understand what led up to the attack.”
