Man Arrested After Machete Attack in Omagh

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder following a brutal machete assault in Omagh last night.

Deadly Attack Outside Omagh Home

Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell revealed the chilling details: “We received a report at around 11.55pm that two men had been attacked by a man armed with a machete outside a house in the Slievecoole Park area of the town.”

Emergency crews rushed to the scene. Sadly, one victim, 53, died shortly after the attack. Another man was hospitalised with hand injuries.

Police Hunt Witnesses

The suspect is now in custody as police continue their investigation. The PSNI are urging anyone who was in Slievecoole Park or nearby pubs on Gortin Road around the time of the assault to come forward with information.
