High-Speed Chase Ends in Shocking Ram Attack
Officers spotted the stolen Audi less than an hour later on Wennington Road, Rainham, moving alongside a Mercedes. The Mercedes split off as police gave chase. The pursuit was handed to officers trained in Tactical Pursuit.
As the chase hit Marsh Way in Rainham, the Mercedes roared back and deliberately rammed a police car into a central barrier. Both officers inside were hurt but released from hospital after treatment.
Two police vehicles were damaged in the daring attack.
Stolen Cars Abandoned, Suspect Nabbed
The Audi eventually fled and was found abandoned nearby. Meanwhile, the Mercedes driver tried to escape but was quickly caught by officers.
The Mercedes had itself been stolen earlier that same day in Essex.
Thankfully, no one else was injured. The road was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
