Police launched a murder probe after Darren was found dead in East London with horrific neck injuries.

Man Found Dead in Kirton Gardens

Just after midnight on Wednesday, 19 October, officers rushed to Kirton Gardens, E2, following a public tip-off about a man’s wellbeing. They discovered Darren deceased at the scene. His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

Murder Investigation Underway

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command quickly stepped in, treating the death as murder. A post-mortem on Friday, 21 October, revealed Darren died from compression to the neck.

Early Arrest Made

On Saturday, 22 October, police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as detectives dig deeper.

Detective Urges Witnesses to Speak Up

“My thoughts remain with Darren’s family as they come to terms with this terrible loss,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil John.

“The early arrest is a positive step thanks to our detectives’ relentless work. But we still need to learn more about Darren’s life, friends, and his movements before 19 October.”

“I urge anyone with information – no matter how small – to come forward.”
