Police Hunt Intensifies for Missing Woman in Highgate
Norma Girolami, 70, from Elms Park, Cholmeley Park, Highgate, was reported missing on Monday, 20 September. Police are growing increasingly worried that she may have come to harm.
Murder Inquiry Underway After Arrests
The case has escalated dramatically. The investigation is now in the hands of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command homicide detectives. Officers are searching multiple addresses and speaking to friends and family but still haven’t found Norma.
On Friday, 1 October, two people were arrested: a 39-year-old man in Islington and a 34-year-old woman in Finchley. They were initially held on suspicion of fraud and false imprisonment but were later re-arrested on suspicion of murder.
The man remains in police custody, while the woman has been released on bail until later this month.
Detectives Plead for Information
“Norma has not been seen since mid-August. Her home shows no signs she planned to leave, and food was left in her fridge. This behaviour is out of character,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn.
“We are extremely concerned for her welfare and ask anyone with any information to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be crucial.
“Norma, if you are safe, please get in touch.”
