West Kensington Shooting Sparks Murder Probe

A murder investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot in West Kensington in the early hours of Sunday.

Gunfire Erupts on Kensington High Street

Police were scrambled to Kensington High Street, W14, at 2.02am on 4 September following reports of gunfire. Officers quickly searched the area and found a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency first aid was given at the scene before London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance arrived. The victim was rushed to a central London hospital but tragically died at 5.32am.

Arrest Made as Homicide Squad Takes Over

His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. A post-mortem will be arranged soon.

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command homicide detectives have stepped in. A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
