Mass Drug Bust Rocks Newham and Waltham Forest – 21 Arrested in Dawn Raids
In a major crackdown this morning (8 July), police swooped on addresses across Newham and Waltham Forest, arresting 21 people on suspicion of dealing Class A and B drugs.

The raids are the result of an intense eight-month probe targeting drug supply, anti-social behaviour, and violent crime around Stratford Park, Newham. The inquiry kicked off after relentless complaints from local residents fed up with crime in their neighbourhood.
Arrests and Seizures: 20 Men, One Woman Taken Down
- 21 suspects detained – 20 males and 1 female, aged 16 to 39
- All are now in police custody
- Stolen vehicle and imitation firearm seized during operation
Police Pledge to Tackle Violence and Drug Dealing
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace, who led the raids, said:
“We know that drug supply fuels much of the violence in Newham. That’s why operations like this are crucial to catching those responsible. This long-term investigation was sparked by local community concerns about drug dealing and violent crime in Stratford Park. We won’t tolerate the misery criminals bring to residents here.”
“These arrests send a clear message: we are determined to drive down violence, drug trafficking, and anti-social behaviour. The community can be reassured we’re committed to working with them to make their neighbourhoods safer.”
The crackdown involved officers from Newham and Waltham Forest police, plus the Territorial Support Group (TSG), showing a united front against crime in East London.
