Landslides Spark Dramatic Airlift Rescue in Argyll and Bute
Ten people were dramatically airlifted to safety after landslides slammed shut two major roads in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The A83 and A815 were blocked by debris, stranding several vehicles and forcing emergency action.
Helicopter Rescue Amid Road Chaos
An HM Coastguard helicopter swooped in to rescue the trapped motorists. Thankfully, police confirmed no injuries were reported. Both the A83 and A815 remain closed as crews work to clear the wreckage.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area altogether as recovery continues.
SEPA Warns of Serious Flood Risks
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has sounded the alarm over “quite significant concerns” for west coast communities.
“This is not just a normal wet autumn day. We are concerned about the possibility of significant flooding,” said SEPA spokesman Vincent Fitzsimmons.
With rainfall well above average, officials are on high alert for further floods and landslides. Locals have been urged to stay vigilant and prepared as the wet weather shows no sign of easing.
