The very next day, a 15-year-old lad was arrested near Gilman Close play park at 6pm. Police found a hammer and cannabis in a discarded rucksack. The teen faces charges of possession of an offensive weapon, Class B drugs, and affray. He too has been released under investigation.

Police Warn Over Rising Youth Crime
“We continue to target those intent on causing harm to our community,” said Acting Inspector Georgina Romani. “The ages of some involved are a major concern. We’re working with schools and partners to tackle this.”
“Carrying weapons is a criminal offence with devastating consequences. We’ll keep up patrols all week, not just weekends, and need the community’s help. If you know anything, call 101.”
