Police Officer Hurt in Shocking Blackburn Hit-and-Run
Authorities are on high alert after a police officer was struck by a stolen car in a terrifying hit-and-run in Blackburn. Witnesses and anyone with footage are urged to come forward immediately.
Stolen Volkswagen Polo Hits Officer Then Crashes
At 7.57pm on April 2, emergency services responded to New Chapel Street following reports of a black Volkswagen Polo mobility car (registration PF73FJX) stolen between March 26 and April 2.
The investigation heated up this morning in the Mill Hill area, when an officer spotted the stolen vehicle parked in Fred Pickering Place at 11:53am. Approaching the car to question the driver, the situation took a violent turn.
The driver suddenly sped off, hitting the officer and flinging him onto the bonnet before he crashed onto the ground. The stolen Polo then smashed into a nearby Seat Leon.
Officer Hospitalised but Stable
The injured officer was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shocking attack has left the local community reeling.
Suspects Described — Police Still Hunting
- Driver: White, aged 15-17, slim build, blondey brown curly hair down to eyebrows
- Passengers: Three youths, all white, aged 15-17, dressed in black
No arrests have been made yet as police continue the manhunt for the stolen VW Polo.
