Teen Thugs Launch Rock Attack in Castle Park, Colchester
Woman Assaulted by Teen Gang
Police are hunting witnesses after a woman was attacked in Castle Park, Colchester, earlier this month. The assault happened between 5.15pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, 8 April, near the public toilets behind Holly Trees.
A gang of up to seven teenagers, all believed to be around 15 years old, reportedly verbally abused the woman before hurling a rock at her.
Distinctive Descriptions of Suspects
The victim described one girl in the group wearing an all-pink outfit. A boy was seen sporting grey jogging bottoms and a dark hoodie. Essex Police are treating the incident as a hate crime.
Police Urge Public to Step Up
An Essex Police spokesperson said:
“We are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time, to get in touch. Your information could be crucial to our investigation.”
