Armed Police Descend on Croydon After Shots Fired
Police were scrambled to Whitehorse Road, Croydon, at around 9.05pm on Tuesday, July 13, following reports of gunfire.
Large Area Sealed Off as Firearms Incident Declared
A property along with a sizeable stretch of Hampton Road has been cordoned off by officers. Two Armed Response Vehicles (ARVs) rolled up with eight armed cops to secure the scene after the incident was classified as a firearms event.
Search Dog and Damaged Audi in Spotlight
A specialist search dog was seen sniffing around the area, while police also investigated a damaged Audi A4 nearby.
No Injuries Reported Yet, Investigation Active
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed officers attended swiftly and, thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far. Enquiries are ongoing as detectives piece together what happened.
