Staff at a Co-op in Orpington faced terror this afternoon when a man armed with a weapon—described by witnesses as either a machete or a bread knife—stormed the store. The Met Police were called at 12:51pm after reports of a knife-point robbery shook the community.

Three-Figure Cash Haul Escapes on Foot

The armed suspect demanded cash from the till before fleeing on foot with a bundle of notes totaling in the hundreds. Luckily, staff and shoppers escaped the ordeal unharmed.

Crime Scene Closure and Ongoing Investigation

The Co-op on Cotmandene Crescent in St Paul’s Cray was temporarily shut down by police as they hunt the culprit. So far, no arrests have been made, and officers continue to appeal for witnesses.
