Man Arrested Over Fatal Edgware Stabbing
Detectives have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the stabbing murder of a woman in Edgware earlier today. He was caught this afternoon in Colindale and is now held at a north London police station on suspicion of murder.
Tragedy Strikes Near Limesdale Gardens
The horrific attack happened at around 11:50am on Thursday, May 9th, near the junction of Limesdale Gardens. The victim, believed to be in her 60s, was stabbed and tragically died at the scene.
Investigation Underway as Family Mourns
Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis from the North West Command Unit said the investigation is in its earliest stages. He urged the public not to speculate on how the attack unfolded.
“This is a significant development following swift action by specialist detectives working alongside local officers,” Bellis said. “A family has been left devastated by this shocking attack and my thoughts are with them at this unimaginably difficult time.”
Crime Scene Remains Active, Police Seek Witnesses
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command homicide detectives continue their inquiry at the scene. Authorities are working to notify the victim’s next of kin and are investigating any possible links between the victim and suspect.
