Hammersmith Apollo Evacuated Over Suspect Device Scare

A major evacuation rocked the Hammersmith Apollo on Sunday night after a suspicious device was reported during Dariush’s concert. The panic unfolded just before 9pm at the packed Eventim Apollo on Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, with police calling in bomb experts to comb the venue.

Anonymous Threat Sparks Police Response

The Met Police revealed they received an anonymous call at 8.06pm threatening a music venue, identified as the Apollo.

“There was nothing to indicate that the threat made was genuine but at 20:21hrs officers attended the venue to speak to security staff and to determine whether they were aware of anything suspicious or otherwise of concern,” a Met spokesman said.

Venue Management Orders Evacuation as Precaution

Despite no suspicious items found and no concerns raised by staff, the Apollo’s management made the call to evacuate at around 8.40pm as a safety measure.

The Met assured all attendees were safely escorted from the building with officers remaining on-site for reassurance. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no dangerous items were discovered.

The investigation continues as bomb disposal teams thoroughly search the venue.
