Two Arrested After Horror Lorry Smash on A2 at Dover Port
Two men have been arrested following a brutal crash on the A2 at Dover late Sunday night. Emergency services raced to the scene just before midnight to find a nightmare wreck involving a massive foreign-registered lorry and a private car with two passengers inside.
Grim Scene at Dover Port
Fire crews from 1 Fire and Rescue had to use specialist cutting tools to free the victims trapped inside the black Nissan Qashqai. The smash shut the A2 into Dover Port for nearly nine hours while police and investigators worked the scene.
Police Reveal Details of the Collision
A kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police spokeswoman said: “At 11.54pm on Sunday 2 July 2017, officers were called to a collision on the A2 Jubilee Way involving a yellow lorry and a black Nissan Qashqai. The lorry was heading towards the docks and collided head-on with the car travelling the opposite way.”
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit has taken charge of the inquiry. Two men, aged 36 and 51, were arrested in connection with the incident.
